You Are Not Abandoned
So be strong and courageous! Don't be afraid and don't panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you or abandon you. Deuteronomy 31:6
Sister,
One thing we can be certain of is that God is the same today, yesterday and forever. His Character, His Faithfulness, His Power, His Authority, His Dominion and His Sovereignty never changes. You can rest assured that the Lord is true to His Word. This passage reveals the faithfulness of God to a nation He established and loved. There was no particular reason for the Lord to make such a promise to a group of people that would turn their backs on Him other than His Sovereign Love. Our Heavenly Father is committed to His Promises and through His Promises you can see His Character. Here we see God charging Joshua and the nation of Israel to be strong and courageous not due to any quality they possess. Their courage and confidence is based on the fact the Omnipotent God will go ahead of them and not leave them but always come through. This assurance lays on the reality that God is who He says He is and He will do what He says He will do. Sister!... When we can wholeheartedly believe that God is true to His Word then we can rest in His love. He reminds us constantly through His Word that He loves us and He's with us. Jesus told the disciples in Matthew 28:20 before He ascended to Glory that He would be with them even to the end of the ages. If you are born again, His Holy Spirit lives in you, so how could He ever leave you? IMPOSSIBLE!
Sister, sometimes we make our walk with God so much about us and too less about God that we forget Who God actually is. The God that created you and cause you to exist knows how to sustain you as you walk with Him daily. The Lord is our confident Hope. You don't have to worry about being abandoned by God. Others may leave or may have left you but the One who formed you and loved you before you knew yourself will always be present. Sister, if you are dealing with scars from abandonment allow the Lord to heal them through the shifting of your focus on who He is and lesson on what has been done to you. God is a mender of every heart, sustainer through every trail, water through every drought and the Parent to every orphan. You are not abandoned because Jesus will never leave you. Trust what He says.
Prayer Focus:
Dear Heavenly Father,
In the name of Jesus, forgive me for looking and wanting someone else as if you were not enough. Lord, You are more than enough. You are the Great I Am. You are from everlasting to everlasting. You're the one that comforts and guides. You never leave me alone. You are the one that redeemed my soul and brought me out of darkness. Thank you for saving me. First, loving us all enough to send Jesus to take the penalty of our sin when He was innocent of sin. Thank you for being the Lover of my soul. Help me to love you with all that I am and never allow anyone nor anything to take your place in my life. Help me to wait and know when your love shows up through others. Make me an instrument of Your Love.
In Jesus name , Amen.
